Read Will's lips: 'Let's kiss, okay?'
The media coverage of the royal wedding was nothing if not resourceful: The Associated Press even enlisted a lip-reader to translate what William and Kate said to each other and others during their Friday nuptials. Unverified, of course.
At the altar, William told his bride she looked "lovely?beautiful," which could be seen clearly on the BBC cameras. Then he leaned over to her father, Michael Middleton, and joked, "We're supposed to have just a small family affair."
Outside the abbey, his grandmother the queen and step-mother Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, remarked, "It all went very well."
In the carriage on the way back to the palace, Kate asked William, "Are you happy?" When they first emerged on the palace balcony, she could be seen saying, "Oh, wow" at the half-million happy revelers in the plaza below.
Then, William said to her, "Okay. Look at me, let's kiss, okay." Then, "One more," and they kissed a second time.
