With a sexy female cast consisting of Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, newly found bad-ass Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung, it?s no wonder Sucker Punch is the dominant favorite. The story is about a young girl who?s institutionalized after losing her mother and her sister. Learning of the institution?s decision to lobotomize her, she along with her four closest gal pals plan their escape? which takes them into an alternate reality named the ?brothel world? where they dress up as sailors? While there is a psychological level to undersatnding the film, the real underlying story is about Warner Bros.? expectations for director Zach Snyder. With his last two films (Legend of the Guardians and Watchmen) barely making a mark compared to 300, Warner Bros.? is hoping he and Sucker Punch perform to justify contracting him for the upcoming Superman: Man of Steel.
And to think, a Wimpy Kid is hoping to rattle a few cages. Either way, the male audience is set to take on the Wimpy Kid role and identify with the character or drool over the untouchable sailor girl.
