WONG: Hollywood celebrities gathered in Denver over the weekend in support of Barrack Obama and his vice presidential ticket, Joseph Biden. The Democratic National Convention has attracted a host of high profile members of the entertainment industry as well as elected officials. STORY: Despite some bad press for his recent decision to bring Senator Joe Biden on board, Barrack Obama?s supporters flocked to the Democratic National Convention to throw their support behind the African-American leader. Among them? director Spike Lee, who believes Joseph Biden is a good choice for Obama?s running mate. [Spike Lee, Producer/Actor]: ?I think it?s a good move, you know, when you?re picking a vice-presidential nominee, you want someone who can shore up where you need strength.? Actress Ellen Burstyn responded to Republican presidential candidate John McCain?s criticisms of Hollywood being supportive of the Obama campaign by saying: [Ellen Burstyn, Actress]: ?I think that if he had that kind of support from Hollywood he wouldn?t make light of it.? Others found criticism of Obama?s celebrity support to be slightly hypocritical. [Tim Daly, Actor/Producer]: ?The Republicans have to remember that their biggest star in the last 100 years was Ronald Reagan. He was a huge celebrity, and they are the only people who elect actors to public office. Schwarzenegger, Sonny Bono, Fred Thompson.
