Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene have broken up.

The US stars are said to have split a few weeks ago but want to remain friends.

'It was mutual and amicable,' a source tells the New York Post.

'They drifted apart because of their work schedules.'

Twilight actress Ashley, 23, has been busy filming Breaking Dawn in Vancouver, while Joe, 21, records his solo album in New York.

But the Jonas brother recently gushed about how they always made time for each other.

'I think what works about it is she really puts my feelings first,' he told Details magazine.

'She understands my busy schedule.

'She'll fly out to my shows - she's been to places in South America that I can't even pronounce.'�
