While Lauren Alaina gave it her best shot this season, Scotty McCreery was crowned the winner of Country American Idol! A record 122 million votes were cast to chose the winner.
The 16-year-old with the deep deep voice, captured America?s hearts with his unique voice and mega-charm. He?s been the favorite to win for the last few weeks, and he definitely was appreciated the win. Upon hearing his name called he was overcome with emotion.

The finale opened with the top 13 finalists all dressed in white singing ?Born This Way? by Lady Gaga. Other group performances included, the women, all dressed in red, sang a Beyonce medley which was just eh, until they were joined by Beyonce!
The top 13 guys were dressed all in black, came out to sing a medley of songs by Tom Jones, and then surprise, they were joined by Tom Jones who is looking OLD. Beyonce sang a new song, ?1 + 1.? Not the best of songs, but she sounded great.
The musical highlight of show was definitely Lady Gaga?s performance (sung solo, by the way) of ?Edge of Glory? which she sang on a big rock. She showed everyone how things are done! Steven Tyler sang ?Dream On? and rocked the house.
