Helen Flanagan has cut off her long brunette locks and dyed them peroxide blonde.

The Coronation Street actress beamed as she left a salon in London having just got her edgy new crop yesterday.

'Helen has had the same hairstyle and colour for many years, and decided the time was right for a big transformation,' says a spokesman for the actress.

'She is absolutely thrilled with her new hairstyle and how it has made her feel.'

Helen, 20, plays Rosie Webster in the soap and producers say they've already thought about introducing her new look into a storyline.

'We love Helen's look and knew she was having it done,' a Corrie spokesman tells the Daily Mail.

'It will be mentioned in some way on her return.'
